Then he attacks it all!!!
~I LOVE LOVE LOVE being at home with this boy. Working full time the last couple of years has made me even more grateful for the opportunity to stay home. I love not knowing what day of the week it is. Instead of watching the clock all day I feel like the hours and days fly by. This is a great job.
~ I just got released from my calling in the Young Women's program. It was a fantastic 2 years, I love all those girls, but with a new baby and a husband as the Scout Master, it wasn't too feasible. I did get a new calling which I am VERY excited about but I can't tell yet, maybe next week.
~We are headed down to sunny AZ for Thanksgiving this year. Can't wait.
~We have a rabbit named Mojo. We got him at the beginning of the summer from a friend who was moving. After forgetting about him in his cage for almost a week while we were preparing for and having our first child, I decided to let him free in our backyard. He is now fat and happy as he has helped himself to our incredibly weak garden (5 strawberries, 2 squash, a few tomatoes, and 1 green pepper). Before Mojo...
After book club we rode our bikes downtown again for more shopping and more ice cream (Christy bought some really cute earrings). Went to the Relief Society broadcast together that night. It was so nice to go with my sister, even though I spent half of it in the mothers lounge feeding Andrew and listening to it through the speakers. Enjoyed eating dinner together afterwards and getting the serious giggles.
Great night of Survivor and The Office. Oh I love that the season has started again!
Andrew was blessed on Sunday morning at church. Andrew behaved wonderfully and Dan did a great job, if he was nervous I couldn't tell. After church we went on a walk through a nearby park.
Christy liked the big Oak trees. I loved seeing Christy experience Oregon for the first time. She got excited about all the same things I got excited about when I first moved here. We must be sisters. Christy did a wonderful job doting over her nephew. Christy agrees he is the most amazing, perfect, and beautiful little boy she has EVER seen, she knows exactly what new parents want to hear.
The best part for me was all the time we got to sit and talk. Christy is an amazing woman, wife, and mother. Visiting with her made me wish I had her next door so I could pick her brain every step along the way while raising my family. She is doing an incredible job with her 6 kids. Talk about a mother who knows how to teach and train her children. She takes motherhood to another level. I am in awe. I was so impressed at how much her teenage boys talked and shared with her over the phone through the weekend. It was obvious that they have a great relationship.
I have so many amazing examples in my family. Dan was, once again, reminded how important it is for me to have regular trips to visit my family. We both learn so much from these visits. I hope over the years we can spend enough time with these amazing people that we can reap from their experiences and apply it to our own little family. Thanks again Christy for making the trip out here and for the fun energy you brought with you. I sure love ya!
